The following Outdoor Activities are available in our area


Boating:
Canoeing, kayaking and power boating are great ways to see our lakes and rivers.
It is here that you can observe bald eagles, loons, deer, bear, moose, coyotes and other animals in their natural habitat.

Fishing:
Open water fishing species include, landlocked salmon, togue, small mouth bass, white perch.
Brook trout are abundant in our streams and brooks.

Ice Fishing:
Not only is ice fishing a great way to catch fish and enjoy the winter, it is a great way to meet new friends.
Live bait is available at The Grand Lake Variety in Weston.

Hiking: Hike the beautiful East Grand Overlook Trail.
Trailhead located just south of 2 Mile Curve on Route 1
Observation deck and picnic table for your enjoyment

Hunting:
In our abundant forests, small game animals such as ruffed grouse, woodcock and snowshoe rabbits are available.
Our big game animals consist of moose, deer and bear.

Snowmobiling:
Groomed snowmobile trails will take you throughout Washington and Aroostook Counties.

ATV Riding:
Maintained ATV trails offer an experience of the outdoors in the three seasons.

Bird Watching:
Be alert for northern bird species i.e. spruce grouse, boreal chickadees, black-back woodpeckers, and yellow-bellied flycatchers in their suitable habitat.
Bald eagles and loons are a common sight around the lake.

Scenic viewing:
The "Million Dollar View" offers a spectacular view of our lakes from Peek A Boo Mountain scenic turnout. Or for the more hardy a climb up the old fire tower can reveal an even greater view of the entire surrounding area.
The fire tower can be reached from Harris Hill Road.

Views of Mount Katadhin can also be had from the scenic lookout on Route 1 in Weston.
